Amazing Metro Blindness

It’s amazing how people on the metro can not see the large belly of a 24 week pregnant woman (that’s “6 months” to non-pregnant people). Yep – the mind boggles at how these good citizens don’t notice your belly, but can turn around and look at you in annoyance as your handbag brushes up against them as you try to find somewhere to stand…

Conversely, it’s also amazing how much people DO notice your “6 months pregnant belly” when cycling…the looks of horror, shock and general “what the hell is that woman doing cycling!?” is something to see.
For my part, I’m utterly sick of the few times I’ve had to take the metro and standing for almost 40 minutes while people seated, diligently study their iphones (or similiar device) for fear of them actually seeing that someone else might be entitled to the seat!
I’m not sure for how much longer I’ll be able to cycle, but I’m filled with loathing at the thought of getting the metro

Wash balls

I bought one of these today – Robby Eco Wash Ball http://www.amazon.com/Robby-Wash-Blue-Laundry-months/dp/B003AKTHOW
it wasn’t the wash ball I was planning on buying, but while Hannah was at her swimming lesson, I went to the new “Arenas” shopping centre – it used to be one of Barcelona’s bull rings, now it’s been converted to a delux shopping complex.
I found an “Eco / Bio / Natural” shop on the lower level, and as well as unsweetened bio cranberry juice it had these wash balls.
I’m hoping it will reduce washing powder usage…we’ll see!

And the result – Was not good (No surprise there though)

The Expendibles is utter PANTS – (and when I say “Pants” I really mean, “from-the-bottom-of-your-laundry-basket-where-they’ve-been-for-a-week-festering” PANTS)
Truely one of the stupidest action films I’ve seen in ages. It had most of the 80s and 90s big action stars (OMG, Stalone looked about a 100), all of the 90s big explosions and body count – and none of the sarcastic, dry wit action scripts by the likes of Shane Black…
And not enough of Jason Statham or Jet Li…Or Brucie for that matter.

I think we’re going to see SALT next week, it really can’t be any worse. That’s not possible.

Which leads me to another point I’ve been meaning to make for ages now – for any weavers out there who watch action films (and I’ve discovered there is at least one!) have you seen WANTED ? Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman as assasin weavers…yes, I’m not kidding – Weavers.
I would only recommend it if you go in for silly action though, there’s not a lot of weaving going on there!

Ah yes, and Weaving – I started threading up Autumn Chocolate and am hoping for some “Friday Weaving” time today after work.
(This crappy movie review glut will pass soon, I promise.  It only lasts as long as we have family staying)
